How you can order some COVID Relief

Simply complete the order form on the right (indicating the number of jars you’d like and your delivery location) and you can get yourself and your loved ones some of our amazingly effective sugar scrub for your dry, over-washed hands. It also works great on your body if your skin is suffering like mine from the sudden move into winter.

Each jar is 150 ml of 100% natural goodness. Cost is $10 per jar and 100% of profits (approximately $9) is going to support students in need. So your heart can feel good while your skin feels good.

Note: If you’re viewing this from your mobile, the contact form might not be accessible for you. Instead, simply pop me an email at caseythom@gmail.com.

Important delivery note: We are only able to deliver to the Kelmscott area and to the ECU metro campuses.

Who we’re supporting

International students are doing it tough. Despite contributing $37.6 billion to the Australian economy last year, they are not eligible to receive any government support during these difficult times.

ECU, like many universities in Australia, is doing all it can to support our students during this difficult time. It has dedicated $2 million to provide support grants to students who are facing extreme economic hardship, but it’s just not enough.

My team has already received over 3000 applications from students facing one of the most difficult times of their life. Every day in my job as a Student Success Officer, I hear stories from students who have lost their jobs and are now forced to decide to spend their last $100 dollars on groceries or repaying back rent in fear of being evicted.

Support from students’ families is not an option for many due to effects that COVID-19 has had on their home countries. Going home is also not possible for many students as borders have closed or transportation is just not available.

How you can help

It’s easy. Buy yourself a little pampering. While your at it, buy your sister or friend or partner or great auntie a jar. 100% of the profits (approximately $9 per jar) will go to support ECU’s Student Hardship Fund which ECU will match dollar for dollar.

How my Mother’s Day present inspired our fundraiser

For Mother’s Day, my youngest son, Ollie, gave me a jar of sugar scrub that he and his classmates made themselves in class. I thought it was sweet, and he urged me to try it out right away. While putting it to use on my hands which were in a horribly dry state from all the hand-washing, I was thrilled to see how well it worked and how smooth my hands felt.

And then a light bulb switched on in my head, and I thought how a simple product which brought such relief to my hands might also bring financial relief to students doing it tough.

I talked it over with Ollie and my older son Elliot, and they both jumped on the idea of being able to help some of the students that we had discussed over the dinner table each night.
